On Friday October 7th 2011 Avid fisherman, James Thompson, visited both Maplewood fourth grade classrooms. Mr. Thompson explained to the children the landscape in which he fishes is old strip-mines in southern Indiana. He explained to them the nesting and reproduction habits of large mouth bass, and even demonstrated how to safely fillet a fish for eating.
